How to interpret events report?

There has been a change in the way we interpret event report in the App+web properties, when compared to standard analytics properties. The standard properties had the event report broken down primarily by event category, action and label dimensions which were tied to metrics like total events i.e. number of times the event occurred and unique events i.e. the number of distinct events in a session.

The new measurement model for the App+Web properties just has two scopes event and user respectively. So everything we capture including sessions and page views are events. The event report for the new property is broken down by event dimension and tied to metrics like count i.e. number of times the event occurred and users i.e. number of distinct users who triggered these events. % change indicates the percentage change in count and user number from previous period.

In standard properties we could use events to create goals. Goals are session scope and are used to create micro/macro conversions. Since there is no session scope in the new property. We could use mark as conversion toggle available in the event reports.

Which users have access to mark events as conversions?

Users with only edit access to the App+Web property are allowed to mark captured events as conversions.

One key point to note, similar to standard analytics properties access provided at account level is inherited at property level. For instance,if we assign edit access to a particular user at an account level ,then the user inherits the same level of access at the property level.

To add users, navigate to the admin section by clicking on admin icon and then choose account user management or property user management respectively.
